Good evening. Welcome to another edition of Friday Night Poetry Corner. This week our feature poem by Kev Brown called “Harbour.” It is a magnificent poem and beg you to visit his blog site. He has more excellent poetry to read.

Kevin Brown Poetry

”A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for.” — John A. Shedd.

I sought safety and refuge,

For over half my adult life,

Telling tales of madness,

Spinning old yarns,

Picking up daily -

Where I’d left off before.

Many maps, laid claim -

To fortunes -

Beyond my wildest dreams,

I learned from old pirates,

Of the beauty of a life,

At sea, unknowing -

What waves would come my way.

So I let go of bowlines,

And sailed the sea,

Finding treasures,

In the depths,

Of myself -

Of which no map speaks.
